Eddie Would Go
Surf Art Collection by Randy Morgan
Randy Morgan created this collage of iconic images to honor Eddie Aikau, a legendary waterman, Hawaiian lifeguard, fearless surfer and big wave rider.
Here we see an image in the foreground of Eddie on his Hawaiian boat “The Hokulea”, then he is shown surfing at Waimea in the middle ground and sailing his boat to Kaena point where he tragically lost his life while trying to rescue another boat in a terrible storm.
Eddie was notorious for surfing huge waves and going out in extreme conditions when no one else would brave the storm... thus the saying “Eddie would go”.
Artist Randy Morgan and legendary surfer Ian Cairns worked closely together on this series of surfing inspired fine art. Now you can own your own piece of Randy Morgan Art that celebrate the culture, environment and history of surfing in Hawaii as inspired by Eddie Aikau.
This piece was originally created in 3D as a bas relief image. Your artwork will be printed to order from a high resolution photo and produced with archival quality materials on your choice of canvas or paper.
